JabMax - Boxing Training App
Need help with JabMax? Browse the frequently asked questions below, or reach out to our support team directly — we usually respond within 48 hours.
JabMax uses your phone's camera to follow your body position in real time. It detects your stance, guard, and each punch you throw, then scores your form, combos, and power. Everything is processed on your device — no video is recorded or uploaded.
Prop your phone upright at about chest height, roughly 2–3 metres away, so your whole body from head to knees is in frame. Train in good, even lighting, avoid bright windows behind you, and wear clothes that contrast with the background.
Missed punches usually come from being too close to the camera, poor lighting, or your arms leaving the frame. Step back, make sure your full upper body is visible, and fully extend each punch before snapping it back to your guard.
Check that JabMax has camera access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera. Close any other app using the camera, then restart JabMax. If it still doesn't work, contact us with your device model and iOS version.
Start with the Train tab. Your daily set begins with Stance & Guard, then moves on to lessons like The Jab. Each lesson is about 2 minutes, voice-coached, and broken into simple key points, so you can learn at your own pace.
Your Fight Rating is a score from 0 to 100 that sums up your form, speed, power, and consistency. It updates as you train, and the Progress tab shows how it has changed over 7 days, 4 weeks, 12 months, or all time.
You earn XP for every round, lesson, and daily set you complete. XP moves you up through the ranks, from Brawler towards Champion. The Ranks tab shows today's, this week's, and all-time standings, either globally or just among your friends.
Yes. You can change your display name in your profile settings. If you'd like your name and scores removed from public leaderboards, email us and we'll take care of it.
No. JabMax is designed for shadowboxing, so all you need is your phone and enough clear space to move freely. Make sure the area is clear of people, pets, and furniture before you start.
Boxing and conditioning can be intense. Warm up before every session, stay hydrated, and stop if you feel pain or dizziness. If you have any health condition or injury, check with a doctor before starting. JabMax is a training aid, not medical advice.
